Yep that's Carter, four years ago we brought home our first baby boy weighing seven pounds, eleven ounces and just 20 inches long! My how time flies.

Sunday we had the family over to celebrate Spiderman-style. Carter screamed and cheered with extreme excitement for each and every gift he opened, from golf clubs to football gear, pajamas to clothes, books to movies and more! Once he finished opening presents he insisted on wearing his new Bears jersey, helmet and pants and even wanted to wear it all again on Monday. He took some time to play with everything he got. He had such a fun-filled day. We were so happy to celebrate! Here are a couple pictures from the party.

Here are some pictures from last weekend, or was it the weekend before...I don't know. Anyway, when we went to Grandmas last and saw Evan. Isn't he cute when he's sleeping!

The boys came by school for our Fall Party. Carter had so much fun playing pass-the-apple with all the kids in class. He fit in perfectly! He kept saying, "Mom, how do they all know my name? I didn't tell them yet!" Yep, I talk about them all the time to my kids at school!

The boys dressed up as a knight and dragon. Carter had been asking for weeks for a sword but I told him he only had two hands: one for his shield and one for his treat bag. He insisted I could hold his treat bag even after I told him that'd mean I get the treats! And...Daddy-of-the-Year came through surprising Carter (and Mommy) with a Daddy-made sword. Charlie spent his day at work converting a paper towel roll, cardboard, and duct-tape into a little knight's dream sword!

It was kinda crazy trick-or-treating in the daylight! Once the sun went down, Carter cracked his glowstick and we hit up a few more houses before heading home for pizza. He had so much trick-or-treating, first leaving his sword in the wagon and then picking up his treat bag before running up to every door to ring the bell. Charlie taught him to only go up to houses with lights on. After dinner, Logan enjoyed his toddler-friendly gold fish graham cracker treat and Carter had a random "sugar stick" piece of candy after sorting out all his loot!

carving pumpkins

Monday night we carved Carter's pumpkin. At first he was not interested in scooping out the goopy-goop and seeds with his fingers. Well, not until Daddy showed him how funny it is to sneeze and pretend it was coming from his nose! Logan wasn't feeling good, so we kept his little pumpkin just the way it was, maybe next year! We turned Carter's into a jack-o-lantern - eyebrows, ears and all! He wanted it to have a scary, mad face. He drew the face on and with mine and Charlie's help it got carved, just like he drew it - we borrowed our neighbor's fancy electric carver! Somehow with Charlie's doing it ended up with Tow-Mater teeth??? Take a look at the end result...
