a night out

Charlie and I had a couple dates this past weekend! Friday night we went out to Foundry for dinner with neighbor friends - celebrating Heather's big birthday! We hung out for a little while after eating to check out her brother-in-law's band. Natalie watched the boys. Then Saturday night Charlie's mom stayed with the boys and we headed out downtown for what was originally starting at 10 Pin for some bowling to celebrate Pam's 30th birthday. Good thing my "pro-bowler" husband didn't bring his ball (that wouldn't have been embarrassing...) because plans got changed and we had a few drinks at House of Blues and then went over to Martini Park. You know, if I wasn't a mother of two I'd probably enjoy Martini Park and the bars downtown more regularly! We were pretty wiped out on Sunday from our busy weekend - believe it or not all four of us were in bed sleeping by 9:30! I had so much fun seeing old friends, sharing old pictures of our high school days, and catching up with out-of-towners too! It was incredibly nice to see Pam and everyone so happy to be together -- I love those girls! Here are some pictures from Pam's birthday bash that I copied from the girls because my memory stick wasn't in my camera...

just a little bit of news

Obviously January is not nearly as eventful as December! Hardly anything exciting going on with us lately aside from the fact that school's busy since the quarter ended, Carter was sick for four days which used up every drop of carpet cleaner we had, Charlie caught "the throw-ups" as Carter calls it and was down for a day or two, I lived on apples, oranges and Airborne for a week to stay healthy and successfully used every squirt of Sol-U-Gard disinfectant to keep the our house and every toy germ-free for Logan (who stayed healthy, I may add!), and never did so much washing of towels and bedding in my life!

Speaking of Logan, tomorrow we go for his 18 month well check visit. 18 months, can you believe it! Logie has such a sweet personality...and those eyes! But recently he has learned to whine (loudly!) for attention and Charlie and I are pretty much over that phase and ready for him to move on with his expressive language! He shouts "Go!" clear as a bell while playing cars or watching sports on tv and has randomly been communicating the word no verbally and a couple times has immitated shaking his head while saying it. I do have a name now - ah! (ma without the m sound). Hopefully some speech sessions will begin in the next few weeks. He LOVES his baths and can blow into the bubble wand making his own bubbles now (we keep working on his kissy face and making a pucker). He's a dancing machine when we play his cds in his room or when Backyardigans or Wonder Pets come on. He's so not mezmorized by the tv like Carter is and always was, so we passed down a bunch of Baby Einstein dvds to baby Evan. He wants to walk up and down the stairs holding the spindles like a big boy but gets a kick out of sliding down backwards on his belly incredibly fast! And tonight he passed up an Oreo for more sloppy joe meat - maybe he's NOT my kid! Really though, he's truely just adorable and there's nothing like hearing him laugh out loud - sounds just like his daddy!
