after-the-holiday holiday party

Carter's preshcool holiday party was cancelled back in December due to the snow day, so it was rescheduled for today. I took a half day and spent the morning with him at his teacher's house (!) for the party. It was cute, the kids started out singing a few Christmas songs while shaking some hand-held bells and then Mrs. Sheidecker gave us all (even the kids) a tour of her house. Unusual. Anyway, they held their preschool day down in her basement doing crafts, snacks, games, learning activities while Moms visited in the kitchen over a little breakfast buffet. Personally, I was there to enjoy my child and his classmates and snuck down there a few times to take a peek at them and to see what (according to all the other mom's Mr. Popularity) Cater was like around the other kids and his teachers. It was nice to get to know the other Moms a bit since I seem to be one of the few working Mom's that can't be part of every preschool day, party or even pick-up and drop-off. Most of them are very nice and really seem to enjoy Carter. It's funny to hear and see other kids his age and talk to their Moms since Carter's the first 5 year old I've had! Reminded me and made me feel proud of how bright, sweet and fun he can be. Appartently he makes all the girls laugh and oh, he's getting married! Yep, every day in the fall brought Olivia a leaf that she's kept as a collection! Someday it'll be roses, what a gentleman!
